Kai Tak Sports Park Welcomes “The Chief Executive’s 2025 Policy Address”
(17 September 2025, Hong Kong) Kai Tak Sports Park (KTSP) welcomes the policies and measures for promoting sports and major events in “The Chief Executive’s 2025 Policy Address” delivered by the Chief Executive, Mr John Lee, today (17 September).
The latest Policy Address states that KTSP plays a pivotal role in promoting sports mega events and developing sports as an industry to drive the development of “sports + mega events”. KTSP fully supports the HKSAR Government’s policies and strategies. In addition to promoting sports development in Hong Kong and hosting more major tournaments, KTSP will continue to attract large-scale entertainment events to the city, realising the integration of culture, tourism, and sports to further the development of mega-event economy, thereby enhancing destination appeal and consolidating Hong Kong’s reputation as “Asia’s Events Capital”.
KTSP extends its sincere gratitude to all departments of the HKSAR Government, partners, and relevant stakeholders for their ongoing support and close collaboration. As the largest integrated sports, leisure and entertainment new landmark in Hong Kong, KTSP has hosted more than 30 local and international sports events such as Hong Kong Sevens, Hong Kong Football Festival 2025, entertainment events including concerts by international and local artists, as well as community activities since its opening. These events have attracted seven million visitors, with over one million spectators at the Kai Tak Stadium alone. The remarkable achievements have contributed to Hong Kong's economic development, showcasing the city's unique advantages and capabilities in hosting international mega events.
Looking ahead, KTSP will continue to complement the work and policies of the HKSAR Government, leveraging its world-class facilities, professional management and promotional advantages to support the HKSAR Government in advancing the development of sports through promoting sports in the community, supporting elite sports, promoting Hong Kong as a centre for major international sports events, enhancing professionalism, and developing sports as an industry. KTSP remains committed to Raising the Game by hosting a wide range of sports, culture and entertainment events that will not only drive social and economic development, but also promote positive growth in community well-being.
