Our Hong Kong China Men's rugby team take on the Japan XV side (Japan’s national A team) at Kai Tak Stadium on Friday 24 October at 7PM.
The match will be the first appearance for a Hong Kong China 15s rugby team at the Main Stadium, Hong Kong’s world-class venue that became the new home of the Cathay/HSBC Hong Kong Sevens in March.
This is also the first match to be played in Hong Kong since the team’s historic qualification for the Men’s Rugby World Cup 2027 in Australia – secured with victory in this summer’s Asia Rugby Men’s Championship. This will be a special moment for players and coaching staff, and a great opportunity for fans to celebrate the World Cup qualification in style.
Hong Kong China and Japan have not faced each other since the 2017 Asia Rugby Championship, with Japan winning both matches (29-17 in Tokyo, and 0-16 in Hong Kong). Hong Kong China are currently ranked 23rd in the world, while Japan sit in 14th place (ranking based on Japan’s first national team).

Ticketing:
- Tickets will be on sale from Tuesday 9 September at 9AM HKT
- Tickets are priced from HK$180 for adults, and HK$80 for children (aged 3-12)
- Children (aged 2 and under) can enter without a ticket, accompanied by a parent or guardian in possession of a general admission ticket
